Job opening: PR and Social Media Assistant

About the Job:

For the launch of my upcoming book Beyond Beautiful I am looking for a part-time assistant to help out with all PR and marketing-related aspects of the book launch – everything from pitching to media outlets, writing PR material to creating social media posts, prepping events and helping to grow the BB community. 

This is a flexible part-time position: You must be available for 16 hours a week, but can spread out those hours however you like. Except for the occasional event support, you'll mostly be able to work from home (hooray for working in PJs!)

Starting date: ASAP

End date: none (open-ended position)

What you'll do:

  • assist the PR and marketing of a book launch on all levels

  • prep and write PR material for various media outlets (magazines, podcasts, newspapers, blogs, social media, etc.)

  • assist in building media relations, including drafting pitches, outreach and so on

  • pitch and independently create imaginative, thought-provoking content for the Beyond Beautiful Instagram account

  • community work (answering reader emails, interacting with followers on social media, etc)

  • help out with PR-related administrative work (sending thank you notes, press copies and so on)

  • occasional event support (interviews, appearances, conferences, etc.)

You are:

  • You are based in Berlin, Germany

  • You are available for the equivalent of two full days a week (hours can be spread out)

  • You are a strong writer and can show me/link to a few samples of your writing (clever and relevant blog posts or Instagram captions are fine!)

  • You are a native English-speaker (or write like one)

  • You have a strong interest in body image, feminism and self-care and are able to pitch and independently create engaging content

  • You love all things media and know your way around the landscape (social media, websites, podcasts, magazines, etc.)

  • You are a pro-active problem solver, dependable and self-motivated

Bonus criteria (these are not necessary, but definitely tell me if you can do/have any of these):

  • speak and write German

  • have previous experience working in PR or media

  • photography skills

  • graphic design skills
